Nancy Campbell grew up and still lives in the small town of Saugerties, located in New York State’s upper Hudson River Valley,nestled between the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains. The local landscape has been Campbell’s inspiration and education, which was rounded out by a four year period living in Germany during the early 1990s. She studied Visual Arts at SUNY Ulster and painting at the Woodstock School of Art, in Woodstock, New York. Campbell was an instructor of Landscape Painting at the Woodstock School of Art, and now serves as its Executive Director. She has served her community in many ways, and from 2006-2010 was an elected councilwoman for the Town of Saugerties. From 1998 until 2006 Nancy ran a popular cooperative art gallery in Saugerties, The Half Moon Studio. She is best known locally for her scenes of the Village where she lives. Nancy has formed a new partnership with Italian family members in Serrone, Italy, offering landscape painting workshops. She will be teaching the workshop with her son Jon Campbell, a painter living in Berlin, Germany. Visit Half Moon Art Studio for more information.
